HVAC Motor

HVAC motors power HVAC equipment to provide heating, cooling, and air circulation in indoor environments. They are commonly used in air coolers, roof ventilators, air circulators, and condensing units. Belt-drive motors drive a belt or pulley to power equipment and allow for adjustable operating speeds. Direct-drive motors include condenser fan motors, pedestal fan motors, room air conditioner motors, and unit heater motors. They mount directly to the drive shaft of HVAC equipment, which minimizes friction during operation and increases efficiency. Direct-drive motors produce less noise and vibration than belt-drive motors. C-frame motors are suitable for use in small fans, such as in range hoods and electric heaters. Draft booster motors and oil burner motors power fans and pumps in gas furnaces and oil burners. OEM replacement motors, 3.3″ diameter motors, and 4.4″ diameter motors are typically used to replace damaged motors with the same specifications in compatible equipment.

Three-phase IEC metric motors are electric motors that have metric dimensions and work on AC power. They adhere to the electrical and dimension standards of the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) instead of the National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA). These motors are commonly used in countries outside the US to power fans, pumps, conveyors, and compressors that require IEC electrical standards.

General Purpose AC Motor

Ideal for hard-to-start applications, these general purpose motors help to get equipment going. They feature totally enclosed, fan-cooled motor enclosures, which help to resist contamination by preventing air from moving freely between the inside and outside of the frame. They also employ fans to blow outside over the motor to stay cool, rather than allowing outside air to freely circulate through the motor interiors.

General purpose AC motors are electric motors driven by alternating current. Also called induction motors, they use a rotating magnetic field to generate energy. AC motors are efficient, durable, and quiet, making them a good choice for powering pumps, blowers, conveyors, and machine tools. Single-phase AC motors use single-phase power that is typically found in homes. Three-phase AC motors work on three-phase electrical power, which is commonly found in large-scale industrial applications. Three-phase IEC metric motors have metric dimensions and are commonly used in countries outside the U.S. to power equipment that requires International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) electrical standards.
